S3 Ep51 Transcript: Crafting Your 2025 Instagram Content Plan with AI & ChatGPT with Juan Galán
00:00
Today, we're diving into how to use AI and ChatGPT to streamline your content strategy and stay ahead of the curve in 2025. Back for round two on the podcast is my special guest, Juan Galan. He's the founder of AI Creator Academy and an expert in AI-driven content creation.
00:23
Last time he was on the show, we covered the basics of using ChatGPT to grow your Instagram following. And today we're taking it up a notch, breaking down advanced AI strategies to help you plan, create and optimize your content like never before. If you're tired of scrambling for post ideas, feeling stuck in the content hamster wheel, or just wondering how AI can help you work smarter, not harder on Instagram,
00:51
This episode is for you. Let's get into it.
00:57
Welcome to Strut It, a podcast about creating bold visibility on social media with zero apologies. I'm Elizabeth Marberry, your host and Instagram marketing coach. I help small business owners get seen on Instagram and monetize their offers so they can make more money doing their sole-led work. If you're tired of spinning your wheels on Instagram and you're seeking simple, proven Instagram marketing strategies that actually work, you're in the right place.
01:26
Let's dive in.
01:35
Welcome back to the show. I am so thrilled and excited that you have cozied up today because I have a super special guest. His name is Juan Galan. And if you've been listening to the podcast, you know that he has been here before. In fact, just a few months ago, I brought Juan on the podcast and we recorded the episode, how to use ChatGPT to grow 10K followers in a-
02:02
weeks and that one episode was one of the most popular episodes I recorded in 2024. I got so much positive feedback from this episode and so I reached out to Juan and I said, Juan I need you back on my show. You bring so much value and my audience loves you. So I want to roll out the red carpet and welcome Juan back to Strut It. Thank you Juan for being here.
02:27
Thank you for having me, Elizabeth. I'm so happy to be back and to hear that our episode together was one of the top rated ones. So exciting. Yes. So when I had Juan on the show, he had a previous Instagram account that he had grown to over 100k followers, 120k or something like that. And he was so brave, and he started a new account from scratch.
02:52
that was specifically focused on how to use AI in your social media marketing strategy. And when I had interviewed you, Juan, you had like just gone over 10,000 followers. How many followers do you have on that account right now? 25,000. Wow. Oh my gosh, that's crazy. That's crazy. And we'll talk about this at the end, but Juan also has an AI Creator Academy where he has courses that you can go purchase
03:22
implement the strategies that we're gonna talk about today. So stick around for that. But Juan, okay, I want to kick us off. We're recording this at the beginning of 2025. Part of the Instagram marketing trends report that I recently spoke on on the show was how AI is really coming out of the closet. So of course we all know AI has been around for many, many years. But I feel like even last year, people were sort of like hush about using it. Like...
03:51
I'm using chat GBT and people are kind of like weird and judgmental about it. And now I was reporting that over 83% of marketers boldly say, yes, of course I use AI. Like how could I not use it? I feel like it's really this year of AI is just completely integrated into everything. I feel like the stigma around using it is maybe less or maybe the misunderstanding that business owners and solopreneurs and entrepreneurs may have had about it or fears they have.
04:21
What I'm getting from my clients is people are wanting, they're finally understanding like, I need to know how to use these tools. I want to learn how to use these tools. So I'm just curious from you, moving into 2025, have you noticed that where it seems like it's much more like embraced or have you noticed any kind of like trend with that? Definitely more people are embracing it because it's the reality, right? But I feel that there's still a few groups of people that are like resistant to it. I've talked to a couple of.
04:50
potential students and they're like still not sure about it. So there's still a lot of work that needs to be done by AI coaches or AI experts to like remind people that it's really a solution. I couldn't imagine my life and business without using AI, especially as a solopreneur, I'm still like at this stage and I haven't needed any employees or any contractors for the past. Well, maybe I have a video editor. That's the only thing that I do.
05:19
Although I'm sure that there's AI tools that can help you edit videos. But anyways, other than that, I don't have a copywriter. I don't have a social media manager. I don't have a VA. I do it pretty much all by myself. And I'm working around four to five hours per day. That's it. Four to five hours a day. That's amazing. So like up to 25 hours a week, and then you're using AI to really do that. That's incredible. Yes, I agree with you. I think that there are definitely still people concerned about it. One of my...
05:46
best friends and colleagues. She's a brilliant copywriter. And I've talked to her about this many times, you know, cause she's had some fears around, oh my gosh, is AI gonna replace me? And I'm like, it is not gonna replace you, I promise. Like I promise it's not gonna replace you. And I really think that you can use this tool to amp up your work and your content and your marketing strategy. You can automate tasks in your business that drain you that you don't enjoy doing. So.
06:15
I agree with you, there's still people who are trying to come on board. If you're one of those people listening and we're sending you love, you'll come when you're ready. And I'm so happy that you're here really just being open to learning about this. It is so intimidating when you're learning a new tool in the beginning. It does take time. That's actually why I hired Juan last year is I was like, I'm at a point in my business where
06:40
I get very strategic about the coaches and mentors I hire. And if someone else is ahead of me and they figured something out, it's worth investing in that for myself so I can learn it and master it much quicker in a much more efficient manner. And that's what I did with Juan. And using AI and specifically using ChatWT, I use it every single day and it's been a total game changer. So I'm so happy you're here. We're going to break it down. And I want to highlight one thing.
07:07
If you are a total newbie to chat GBT or using AI in your business, number one, definitely go back and listen to that episode that we did previously. That is great for beginners, lots of fundamentals in that one. It's called How to Use Chat GBT to Grow 10K Followers in Eight Weeks with Juan Galan. We'll be sure to link that in the show notes. That episode came at the tail end of a four part mini series I did on how to use AI.
07:36
in your social media marketing strategy. That series was seriously gold. And if I was starting from scratch, I would want that resource. So we'll be sure we link all of those in the show notes. And we're gonna go deeper today. We're gonna go deeper into like AI, chat GPT of 2025 and how you can really use it to build out your 2025 Instagram content strategies. So one, I'm gonna pass the mic to you.
08:04
If I want to use chat WT to build my organic Instagram content strategy, where do I even begin? Yes, let's get started. So I want people to get pen and paper because we're going to go very strategic. And also, Elizabeth was saying the first lesson or like the first episode together was more like fundamentals beginners, but we're going to go a little bit deeper and it's more advanced today. So
08:30
Stay with us. If you get lost at some point, you can always reach out to Elizabeth or to me, and we will obviously help you. But when Elizabeth asked me about how can people use AI in 2025 to build a really good content strategy, I was thinking about different steps that I would recommend people to take. And obviously, the first thing that everyone should do, even if you don't use chat GPT or AI at all, is look at your...
08:58
content from 2024, right? You need to analyze what worked in the past, what didn't work. But the great news is that now with ChatGPT, you can do this on Cloud, on Gemini, on Copilot. They have the capacity to analyze insights. We don't need to do that anymore. I know a lot of people are not numbers people. I'm not a numbers person either. But then if you use any social media management tool that can help you extract data from your content,
09:27
you can upload that into chat GPT and you can ask it like simple with a question, like analyze my content from 2024, extract the key insights, what worked, what didn't work. And you're going to get a very, very good overview of your content performance from 2024. Now I've also tested it without exporting any documents or any CSV files. I've also tested uploading screenshots.
09:56
directly from Instagram. So when you go to Instagram and you go to your insights, you can look at your top performing content, like your top performing reels, the ones that have the most reach, the highest number of saves, of shares, of followers. You can screenshot that and chat GPT can also read that information. I do have a free GPT. By the way, for those of you who don't know what a GPT is, it's basically a custom
10:24
version of chat GPT that you can train for specific tasks. Some people call them bots. You can call them bots for this episode to make it easier for everyone to understand. So I created this bot that's called the Instagram profile auditor. It is free. And I've trained it to analyze Instagram profile, including content. So you can use it. I'm sure Elizabeth will link it in the show notes and you can upload the screenshots of your feed.
10:50
even of your entire profile, your profile photo, your bio, your feed, and it will give you feedback on that. But right now we're talking about insights, right? So you can upload the screen shows of your past insights and it will tell you all these rules work because of X, Y, Z. These in work because of this and this and this. So first step is to gather the information. And then second step is to use chat GPT to extract key insights of your content from 2024.
11:20
And Juan, I want to pause right here because that is so in tune because you didn't even know this, but my last episode of 2024, it was three simple questions that you need to ask yourself before you really plan out your 2025. And the first question is, what worked really well this year? What didn't work really well? And then, of course, what do I envision? What do I really want and desire and want to create in 2025?
11:50
So if you are a listener of the show, which of course you are, hello, you're here, you already probably already listened to that episode. Good job. If you didn't, no shame, go back and listen to it. But this is a great opportunity to practice those three questions I've already taught you specifically in terms of Instagram content strategies. So yes, step one, gather the data from wherever you can find it. I have linked both of my business on MetraCool.
12:20
this year and that's been really helpful because it's a great way to get those insights. They do have a free version of it, so you can totally check that out. There's lots of different tools. But as Juan said, you can also just go into your professional dashboard on Instagram. You can take screenshots. You can piece it together. So no excuses. You're going to gather the data and then step two, you're going to upload it into
12:47
chat GPT or whatever platform you're going to use and ask it to analyze it. Okay, fabulous. Juan, back to you. Back to me. Okay, so the next step, this would be step three, is to do competitive research. So you still want to know what your competitors are doing. How is their Instagram working for them? In the past, you could use Google Gemini for this. In fact, this is something
13:16
that I teach in one of my courses when we're doing like the Instagram strategy, it's like, you know, competitive research, but Google Gemini keeps having updates and like sometimes it doesn't work, sometimes it works. So one of my students actually found this free GPT as well, this this free bot called Instaguru. And I'll make sure to give Elizabeth the link as well. And somehow this GPT has access to Instagram accounts. So you can ask this is my competitor.
13:45
please analyze their account and it will tell you what they do, what are they known for, and even pros and cons for each account. So obviously part of your research is knowing what other people are doing so that you can do it or do it better. Again, once you've gathered maybe 10 competitors and asked some questions about what they do, you can extract
14:08
key insights as well in the form of instructions, for example. So you have key insights of your content's performance. Now you have key insights of your competitors. Now, next step, which is fourth step, is extracting insights from competitors. Fifth step is, and this is optional, because this is done with another tool that I am loving. It is not free. I'll make sure to share.
14:34
a link with Elizabeth as well so you can give it a go and you can save $25. It's called Poppy AI and it is like a brain. So let me explain that. That doesn't make any sense. If you access to Claude and to GPT, it basically is a great tool for research. So you can import YouTube videos like direct links, TikTok videos, Instagram videos, websites, voice notes.
15:03
documents, like all sorts of content, and then you can connect those to the main brain or to the bot, right? So the bot can access all that information, and based on that, you can ask questions, you can gather insights. So for example, the next step would be analyze viral content in your industry, okay? And you can find viral videos on YouTube, on Instagram, on TikTok. It has to be talking videos though. So it has to be
15:33
head talking videos on TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube. It doesn't work with like short reels because it needs the audio. But then you connect those to the main brain and then you can ask, okay, so why did these videos go viral? Like what are the main characteristics of these videos? What are the hooks that they're using? What language are they using? What's the structure? And then it gives you such good insights of how viral content creators are structuring and are creating their content.
15:58
So you do that research and then you extract insights as well. So what are the main insights here? So what are the main insights for hooks? What are the main insights for strips? What are the main insights for tonality and so on? Okay. Again, this is not a free tool. It is $300 a month. Sorry, $300 a year, not a month. $300 a year. I was like, oh my goodness, that's an expensive app. No, no, no, no, no. So it comes up to more or less the same.
16:27
that you pay for chat GPT plus, but then you get access to chat GPT and plot. I think I'm paying like $20 a month right now for chat to be T 4.0. So that's incredible. Yeah, yeah. I'm just kind of in all right now. I definitely want to check out this tool. I didn't know about it. This is why I love one one is like plugged into the scene. He hooks us up.
16:52
I love this so much because one of the things I'm always teaching my clients and our listeners on the show is that you don't need to reinvent the wheel with your content all the time. You need to find proven viral structures and then essentially repurpose and reverse engineer content that has already worked for your niche. We really make it so hard on ourselves.
17:18
when all we have to do is do a little bit of research into what is actually working and then reverse engineer it for our business. Now that's tricky, right? Like you and I create content every day. So it's really quick for us to reverse engineer content. But of course, when you're new or you're not just constantly creating content all the time like we are, it can be hard to kind of wrap your brain around that. So I love the idea of using this tool and saying, okay,
17:45
I love this video. This one went viral. I love this, I love this. Because the other part of this is there's so much viral content out there. So how would you even pick? You would pick the videos that you like, that you resonate with, that you're like, I like how she does that. I like how Elizabeth does her videos. Gosh, for some reason, every time I watch Elizabeth's videos, I am pulled in. I love how she tells stories. I love how she invites me into her offers. I love how she teaches.
18:13
And that's what I would suggest is find the viral content that you're like, I love how that person does it. How the heck are they doing this? Also with multiple accounts and then get those insights with this tool and I'm asking you this one, say like, okay, you get all those insights. Could I upload, let's say a talking head video in there of myself and say, okay, if that is my goal to have all of those.
18:39
key details of like my hook and my, you know, everything they had just told me was the formula. Can you give me feedback on my content piece that I created? What did I do well and how could I improve this to be more like this person? Like, does it work like that? Absolutely, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Well, you can upload any content that is already on the internet, but they also have the option that you can upload. I think it's under.
19:07
100 megabytes. I'm actually a partner with them. So they're working on the option of uploading videos that are not on the internet, but you can still upload short videos that are under 100 megabytes. So if a real is, I'm pretty sure is less than that. It can give you insights and feedback on that as well. That is so cool. I love this tool. Very fun. Yeah. Can you just review for us like the steps so far? Yes. So let's go back to the beginning.
19:37
First step is to review your content from 2024, whether you're using a tool like Metric pool, you can extract the data or if not, you can just screenshot your insights from Instagram. This is not going to give you the whole year though. Instagram gives you only the past 90 days, but you can still get a good overview, right? Second step is to use chat GPT to extract the insights. So you need to ask questions like what worked well, what didn't work well with this piece of content. Like as
20:07
many questions as you can for getting like really good insights. Step number three would be to do competitor research. And for this, you have this free GPT called the InstaGuru. Okay, once you've done your research, maybe 10 accounts, then extract the insights as well. You want to know what's working for them, how can you stand out with your content. Then the next step would be, and again, this is the optional part, right? Analyzing viral content with Poppy AI.
20:35
Unfortunately, chat GPT doesn't have this ability to analyze viral content unless you describe the content, unless you tell it this is the hook, this is the script. And you know, you have to be as descriptive as possible because chat is just like text based, right? It's like a language model. The last step that's where it gets exciting and juicy. We're going to go deeper into GPTs. So as I said before, GPT is just a customized version of chat GPT that you train.
21:04
so that they can produce any any tasks or generate any tasks. So, for example, in my business, I have GPT's that will help me with my finances and like invoices and all. I have GPT's that help me to create specific types of content. One of the products that I have right now is called the sales accelerator. And it's six GPT's that I've trained to create sales specific content for carousels, for answering stories, for reels.
21:33
for sales pages, for emails, even for DMs. If you're doing like selling on DMs or DM setting, I've trained this GPT to act as a DM setter, right? And I've been using it a lot lately, it's incredible. Wait, wait, wait, we have to pause, we have to pause. When you say DM setter, do you mean like DM automation or what do you mean by that? No, you know that a lot of people sell their programs.
21:59
through DMs or they set calls, they nurture their prospect and the DMs and then they go to the sales call. What a lot of people struggle with is conversation, that flow of knowing what specific questions to ask the person in order for them to be ready to book a call or to buy. Anyway, if it's a high ticket program, usually it goes from DMs to call and then you close the sale in the call. So I've trained a GPT that's a DM setter that
22:27
been trained on psychology and on knowing what specific questions to ask to lead that conversation towards a call. So I've been using it for a new program that I'm running. Literally, I upload the conversation and it helped me based on this user or based on this person. These are the next logical questions that you need to ask in order to lead to a call. Right. I've done a lot of research and I've also been doing DM setting for the whole year. And I've done a lot of research on like, what
22:57
are the best questions to ask when it comes to wanting to book a sales call. So I trained the GPT with that specific information and it's been super, super helpful. Wow. And just to be clear, so I totally understand you are understanding the flow of the questions to lead someone into a call. It's still me chatting with that person, but the GPT just gives me like a script. Okay. That was the clarification.
23:25
I understand, completely understand. That's really cool. Yeah, I had never really thought about that because years ago I invested in this high ticket group coaching program that taught me how to build a high ticket group coaching program. You know, once you're in this world, you kind of in a lot of different trainings like that, a huge part of my training was like discovery calls. And there's like a whole art to having a discovery call and a sales call, right? Like there is an art.
23:53
There is a science, there's so much to it, and I've studied it, but that's really cool. I never thought about using Chad GBT or AI in that way, because even in my sales calls where I feel very confident, and like you were saying, those pieces of, you know, when they first inquire to like getting them on a call, that can be really tricky, especially if it starts very casual, and like there's so much nuance to it. It's kind of blowing my mind right now, where I'm just sort of like,
24:21
huh, this is so interesting and it's such a great reminder. I just wanna pause that, like whether you're listening to this call and you do sales calls like this or not, when you're listening to this episode, this is just a good reminder to even like think through like the mental tasks that you have in your work for your business and almost like make like really note what you're doing. I think so much of us, it's like we're on autopilot or you know, or we just do it because we've been trained.
24:49
But maybe there's tasks that you're doing like what I do. I never even thought about doing this using AI in this way that's what Juan is talking about. And I do it all the time. So I'm just sort of like, this is so fun. I'm learning new things too. Yeah, it's all about automation. The more you can automate with AI, the better. So that takes us to the last step, is that with all the information that you've gathered, you're going to build your own.
25:19
GPT. Okay, and this is not hard at all. I know that some people might feel terrified at the idea of building like a bot. You don't need any coding experience. You don't need any technical experience. They've made it so easy that when you go to the GPT section, you have an option to create new GPT. The way that you build a GPT is also by having a conversation with chat GPT. So you can start by saying, I want to build a
25:47
content strategies GPT. So the GPT will tell you, okay, shall we call it? Blah, blah, blah. And then you agree, yes, let's call it like that. Okay, let's create a profile photo for your GPT and it creates a profile photo. To guide you through this flow of question in order to help you build your GPT. Now, of course you do need to give some input. The first thing that I would suggest you do with your GPT is to feed it with information about your brand, right? Because if you're gonna be creating a GPT that creates content for you,
26:16
With all the insights that we have, those are amazing. But obviously we need to create content that is aligned with our voice, with our brand. So there's two options. You either ask the GPT to ask you questions about your brand in the next step so that it can understand the way that you write, the way that you speak, like your entire brand. That's the first option. The second option would be you can upload documents in the GPT memory. It's the easiest way. So if you do have like a brand book.
26:44
where you have your brand voice, tone, extract of other content that you've created. If you have a brand guide like that, you can upload it and just tell, like, this is my brand guide. From now on, all the content that we create together has to adhere to these guidelines. Okay? And then what you will do is you either put all the insights, again, into Google Docs and upload that into the GPT or just continue step by step. Like, okay,
27:13
These are my key insights from my content in 2024. And these are key insights of my competitors. These are key insights of viral content in my industry. And then you start testing the GPT. So when you create the GPT, you have two windows. You have the create on the left, which is where you have this conversation. And on the right, you have another window that simulates the GPT, like if you were just on chat GPT. So you start testing it,
27:43
Let's say I want to create a piece of content, you get started. So the GPT that you've built will ask you maybe one or two questions before creating the content. And then once it creates the content, you'll see if you like it or not. If not, then you go back to the create section and then you give feedback. Okay. Now actually for, I don't know, for the hooks, I don't like hooks like this or hooks usually are not like that. Remember that hook should be like this.
28:10
And then you keep going back and forth until you have a GPT that you like. And from now on, this GPT is going to create content for you and you can create like weeks worth of content in just a matter of minutes. And it can also give you feedback on other ideas and other content that you have. So that's the process for creating, for using AI to build your content strategy. I know it's a lot of information. That's why I asked you to take note, but yeah.
28:40
It's just crazy all the things you can do with chat and with AI in general. So, so helpful. Oh my goodness. Okay. So your homework is to go and implement at least one of these steps this week. That's what I would love to see you do. And when you do, I want you to send me and Juan a message on Instagram. Make sure you're following us both.
29:06
Send us a message, let us know what you thought of the interview, let us know if you have any follow-up questions, and I cannot wait to really see how you implement this information. And remember, if you're feeling like, oh my gosh, I'm lost, I'm overwhelmed, go back and check out those episodes that I will tag in the show notes, so you can really get the fundamentals of.
29:32
how to use chat GBT and AI with your Instagram content strategy. One, I have two quick questions for you to close out. I know you and I love to talk about working from a place of alignment instead of hustle and burnout and really like listening to our hearts, listening to our intuition. What's one thought or piece of advice around that that you would love to leave with our listeners as they move?
30:01
into 2025 and they have this energy, this new fresh energy of, okay, I'm going to create something this year for myself, for my business, for my family, for my income, for my impact. They have big bold dreams. And if they want to move from a place of alignment and release hustle, is there like just one practice or one idea for them?
30:31
