And then we're gonna be talking about common misconceptions about using AI.

AI stands for artificial intelligence and the most simple way to think about this is it's a technology that allows computers.

to think and learn like humans. You already interact with AI probably on a daily basis. So think about Siri or Alexa, which can answer your questions and follow your commands. That's a great example of AI. Another example of AI is Netflix, okay? We all love Netflix and chill. And as you log into Netflix, it gives you different suggestions of things that you might like. So that is all based on their AI model that they're using.

to understand what are your preferences? What have you thumbs up? What have you thumbs down? So they can show you more of what you might like based on what you've watched before. So how does AI work? AI learns from data and it improves over time. So what we have now currently available to us here in 2024 is gonna be totally different than what we have available next year in 2025. These systems are always improving.

as they get more and more data and feedback, the better they get at understanding and responding to different situations. So there's lots of different uses of AI and for the sake of this series, I'm gonna be focusing on ChatGBT and Google Gemini, mostly on ChatGBT, but I also love to use Google Gemini as well. Those are the two that I would recommend you get started with and for the sake of this,

episode today, I'm going to focus primarily on chat GBT, but a lot of these things apply to Google Gemini as well. So what is a chat GBT? I'm sure you've you see it all over Instagram. You see it in your headlines. I know I get emails from LinkedIn every day about it. So let's talk about it. Chat GBT is a type of AI that was developed by a company called Open AI and it stands for chat generative.

pre-trained transformer. And what you can kind of think about when you think about ChatGBT is it's like having this super smart pen pal who can chat with you and brainstorm and answer questions. It can help you write things and it can help you just come up with lots of different ideas. And so for example, if you needed help with an Instagram post, you could ask ChatGBT for help.

and it will generate a bunch of ideas and texts for you. Now, how does ChatGPT learn? How does it have all this information? So in the simplest way of explaining it, it learns from a huge amount of information on the internet. It's looking at all the different resources and it's allowing it to understand and generate human-like text. And specifically what makes ChatGPT different than like Google, for example, because obviously you can Google and search the internet that way.

Chad GPT is trained to predict what comes next in a sentence. So making its responses relevant and coherent. And so this is actually a really important thing that I didn't totally understand in the beginning and I'd love to shortcut this process for you is that these models, which are large language models are developed in conversation. So these people who designed this, they are...

conversing back and forth with the computer, essentially, teaching it how to predict what word comes after the next word. So that will be important to you when we start to talk about prompts and quality of your prompts to get the best possible output, but know that you're gonna maximize your Chad GBT when you start to get in dialogue. It's not like Google where you just type in one thing and it gives you the perfect answer. It just doesn't work that way. So Google Gemini works.

very much in the same way you can think of it as Google's version of a smart assistant. Same thing, it can help you with writing, answering questions, providing information, doing research. And I invite you to play with both ChotGBT and Google Gemini. They definitely give you different outputs. And so typically when I'm working with these different AI programs, I'll use the same prompts on both and just see which one I like more because they're actually quite different in the outputs that you're going to get.

So chat GPT is a large language model and I'm not gonna like, this is very complex and I'm just gonna give you a very high level explanation of what that is. So a large language model is like a giant library full of books, but instead of books, it has all this information from the internet. So when you ask it a question, it will quickly find the best answer from.

all of that information, kind of like a super fast librarian. And it helps to generate accurate and helpful responses based on what it has learned. Now big caveat, and I'll probably bring this up a bunch of times, but when you're using chat, GPT, Google, Gemini, anything else, you always want to check for accuracy because it will make up things from time to time. You have to be coming at this from a human perspective, using your brain power.

to make sure that the information, yes, it's searching the internet. You do want to double check everything that it's giving you to ensure that it is accurate. So let's get into some common misconceptions of using AI for marketing and for business because in my world, in like the coaching world, and I work with lots of different intuitive business coaches, I work with a lot of creatives, creatives in the wedding industry and...

you know, people who are here to serve and they have their own magic to dish up. They're kind of like Elizabeth, why would I use AI? Like that's going to take away like the magic of me. And so there's a lot of different misconceptions about AI. So I just want to name a couple of them. One is that AI is only for tech experts. And I kind of thought this at first, like I was just like, I have no idea. Like I'm so overwhelmed by this. Like.

I don't even have time to figure this all out, but AI tools like Chad GBT are designed to be user friendly. So you absolutely don't need to be a computer whiz to use them just like you use your smartphone app without needing to know how your iPhone is programmed. You can use AI tools simply by typing in your questions, getting really good at designing prompts that give you the most effective outputs, which we're gonna talk about.

and really just getting in dialogue with with chat GBT. It's so much easier than you think. So if you haven't started playing with it, I hope that you walk away from today's episode just with an open mind to trying it out. Another misconception is that AI will replace people and take over jobs. This is totally not true. So I kind of want to paint this picture of how AI.

works and how it's currently working and how I think it will continue to evolve. Of course, none of us know. So this is just my opinion and what I've been researching. But AI is a helper, not a replacement. So it can really be an assistant. It really allows you and your company and your business to focus on what is your zone of genius. It allows you to focus on more of the creative and strategic work.

that we need your human brain to do, but we can really leverage AI to shortcut and repurpose and we'll get into all of that. But I want you to think about this. So I've heard this quote and I honestly, I'm not sure who said this originally and I wish I could give them credit. And I do think that there's a lot of truth in it and it goes something like this. AI will not replace you, but you may be replaced by someone

who knows how to leverage AI. That really struck a chord with me. I don't think AI is going anywhere. I think the sooner that you can start to learn it and just see it as like a whole new skillset for you to master, it's so worth it because ultimately it's gonna save you so much time and energy and effort, and it's going to streamline so many of your processes so you can work less, right? Like we all go into business.

Not so we can work 80 hours a week and burn out. We go into business for ourselves because we wanna work less. We wanna spend more time with our family. We wanna go on vacation, right? And so AI is just another tool to help us do that. So you will not be replaced by AI, but I would invite you to consider really leaning into it because it's not going away. And as people start to...

learn how to become masterful with it, it's going to accelerate their growth. You don't wanna feel like left behind and in the dust, right? And the final misconception I wanna bring up today is that AI is too complicated. AI is becoming increasingly easier and easier to use. There's so many different companies popping up right now. I'm exploring a lot of different ones so I can find the best possible tools to bring to you and to my clients.

But all of these tools, Chad, GBT, Google, Gemini, and so many others, they have very simple interfaces and very clear instructions. And it's just easy to use. Like I can't explain that enough. There's this ease of use. So let go of any thought that you don't know enough to use it because you do. Like all you need is your thoughts and a clear thing that you want AI to help you with. And it can totally be a helper for you.

Okay, so let's get into why AI is important for marketing on social media. The first piece is what I've already touched on, which is it will save you time and energy. So it can really help you to create content faster. And I like to use it in terms of brainstorming. So sometimes I don't know about you, but I will have all of these ideas or I'll have

I can write a paragraph about what I want to say, but I need someone to put it together in a more cohesive way. So sometimes I'll use AI for that. And it really does help me to save time because it's still all of my ideas. It's still my, my thinking, my process, my tip, my strategy, whatever it is, my story, but I can use AI to help me refine the copy.

Right, so that's an example and that saves me a lot of time because otherwise I might have spent an hour working on that email when I can refine it within 10 minutes with ChatGBT. Another example of how it can save you time is it can generate a week's worth of Instagram posts in minutes. It can generate a 30 day content calendar that speaks to all your brand pillars and with hooks and calls to action and value and all of that. So it is.

really incredible what's available to us as content creators because as a business owner, as an entrepreneur, whether you're doing it or you're hiring it out to a virtual assistant, a studio manager, a social media manager, there's a lot of content that we need to be producing and so it can absolutely help you to save time by creating a high volume of content ideas within minutes.

Your content is only as good as your target market research of who is your ideal client, right? Like what are they struggling with? What are they losing sleep about at night? And how can your product or service help them? Like what is their desired result? What is the solution that you could provide to help them get to that result quicker, right? And so I don't know about you, but years ago I was in a coaching program.

And I had this target market research assignment where I did, I think, like 10 different interviews with people and it was awesome. It was hours and hours of my time. It was a ton of work. And there are so many fun ways that you can use AI to do target market research. You can do competitive analysis. And if you're writing a blog post, for example, or you're scripting a podcast like this, it's like your little research assistant.

So it's a really incredible because you can have a framework like I want to do this for a part mini series on AI for Instagram marketing and you can go back and forth and dialogue with Chad GBT to help you really take your ideas and consolidate them and organize them on paper on the computer. And then of course you're adding your specifics, your stories. Everything is still very personalized and authentic, but it's helping you to really streamline

your processes. So the target market research aspect is so major because one of the biggest mistakes I see on Instagram is people are not clear about their target market and they're speaking to everyone. And we all know if you're speaking to everyone, you're speaking to no one. ChatGBT can help you to develop customer avatars and really customize the content for that particular customer avatar. And it's also important

for marketing on social media because it can help you brainstorm your offer creation, your customer journey. I mean, literally everything you can think of that we do as marketers for our business, you have an assistant here with ChatGBT. So I wanna paint a overview of what's possible when leveraging ChatGBT specifically on Instagram. And then as we move forward in this series, I'm gonna give you more specific prompts.

So that way you can start to really implement this in your business and see what works for you. So you can use ChatGBT to generate content ideas. I've said this a few times in this episode, but I wanna say it again. It's a great way to brainstorm fresh and relevant content ideas that will resonate.

with your target audience. You can ask ChatGBT for ideas for Instagram stories, like Instagram stories that will sell a certain product or service. You can ask it to give you an outline of how to tell an effective story through an Instagram Reel. You have to fact check everything it's giving you. It's really incredible. It'll give you creative suggestions on current trends. With the use of Google Trends, for example, and Google Gemini,

research current trends and it is also possible to train chat gbt to understand your brand voice so you don't sound like a robot and it sounds actually like you which is really fun. So I've been using chat gbt for this a lot lately and it's been awesome. It didn't happen right out of the gate it took some time again for me just to learn how to do all of this and

It is key. We live in an attention economy.

And so again, it's not that you're typing into chat GBT, like help me write a hook and like, and then just expect it's gonna write a hook. It's more involved than that. But once you learn how to go back and forth with very specific prompts, you will be blown away by the high level of hooks and captions that you can leverage on Instagram to grow your business.

I already use AI with responding to comments and direct messages through DM automation. I will be doing an episode all about that because the use of DM automation has completely increased my conversion rate, my open rate for all of my offers, to help me to build my email list and sell more of my offers. So I cannot wait to teach you more about that. But that DM automation is all AI driven.

And what's cool about that is it can help you to quickly respond to comments and direct messages. When people are scrolling, they want, if you're giving them a freebie, for example, and they comment a certain word to get that freebie, they want it now. They don't want to receive it the next day, like 12 hours later when you log back into Instagram. So what I love about DM automation is that people get it.

in the moment right when they want it, right when they're thinking about you and your business and they're excited about this offer you have. And that's how I build my email list to make sales in my sleep. And I can't wait to talk about that more during this series. And the final thing I want to share about how you can use ChadGBT for your Instagram is to create a consistent posting schedule. So it can assist you in planning and scheduling your posts.

and you can use it to create a content calendar outlining what you're gonna post and when you're gonna post it, ensuring that your Instagram stays active and engaging and that you can finally show up consistently on Instagram. In researching for this episode, I have three quick examples of how big brands are using AI right now.

I want to invite you that no matter how big or small your company is, if it's a company of one or a company of 10 or a company of 300 or 3000, AI is for you. This resource is available to all of us. So I really invite you to start playing with it. So I mentioned this at the beginning, but Netflix uses AI to recommend shows and movies based on your viewing habits. Like I'm sure this happens to you, right? You open up Netflix and they say, here's what we think you would like.

So it's like having a friend who knows your favorite movies and suggests new ones that you're gonna love. And this really keeps the users engaged and satisfied with Netflix, so they keep coming back for more. It's very strategic, right? Now, I had never heard about this before I was doing research, and this is so fun. So Sephora uses virtual trions where you can see how makeup looks on your face using your phone's camera.

So it's like a magic mirror that helps you pick the best makeup and this interactive tool makes shopping fun and personalized and I would imagine, and I don't know this, I didn't dive into this, but I would imagine that would really boost sales for Sephora. And it's an example of how AI can really just personalize your customer experience and make it fun for them. So they wanna keep coming back for more.

Lastly, Starbucks uses AI to predict what products people are going to want. And that helps them to manage inventory so they don't run out of your favorite drink. So they have an initiative called Deep Brew. And their Deep Brew initiative is all about harnessing artificial intelligence to personalize the experience for the customer. So like when I log into my Starbucks app.

it knows what drinks I usually get, right? And so it might say, oh, you get this offer for this free latte, because it knows I drink latte. They also use AI in this Deep Brew Initiative to optimize store labor allocations. I am so fascinated by what's possible when we can leverage AI for our business growth, no matter how big or small we are.
